Absolutely beautiful beach.
Absolutely beautiful beach. Waves can be big at times and lots of people go there for surfing. It was very clean compared to other Indonesian beaches I have been to.. Just be careful if you’re not a strong swimmer. You can hire a sun lounge for $10 per day with an umbrella however the only toilets are at the restaurant further along and you need to buy something to use them. They have been bags out the front so it’s a great place to watch the sunset. Best parking is along near the restaurant but you need to ask staff to open the gate. The food at the restaurant is good and the gift shop attached to the resort has some lovely things. We also used the spa attached to the resort and it was brilliant.angelaAustralia - 10Scored 10

I fell in love with this beach at the first sight! I had visited the beach years ago, one time only for lunch at laut biru restaurant. And I kept dreaming to stay in the nearest resort (sempiak villas) ever since. Thankfully I got the chance couple of years later. This was the best beach I'd ever been to in my life. White, soft and clean sand, blue water, clear sky, amazing sunset. The beach was also not very crowded. There were no pushy bracelet or coconut sellers. The only thing that I personally was not comfortable was the presence of dogs, since I'm a moslem and touching dog's considered "dirty". However, most of them were property's pet and well trained. And the amount of them was not as many as in Bali.

A very clean beach, fantastic for learner surfers, excellent Warangs with extremely friendly staff. Most of the boards hired are softboards so it keeps it safe for all on the waves and the instructors are extremely attentive and supportive. Good food, cold beer, lots of loungers- all you need for an excellent day at the beach. Also a fantastic place for sunset!MirshaIndonesia - 4.0Scored 4.0
This could be a great beach but they have people driving...
This could be a great beach but they have people driving their bikes racing on the beach. And like Bali the beach is covered in trash as is south Lombok. It is looking like it will suffer the same issues as Bali. We are not tourists. We live in Indonesia.

I've been coming to Selong Belanak for a number of years and love the place. It's the perfect beach for families and the area is still nice and quiet so no loud pumping music and beach clubs...yet.
